Those neon signs really look as best seen towards the sky at that hour. There’s something with it that makes it irresistibly, making you stop-by.
This is also an image of what would come up on my mind if I were to think of anything American. Mind you I have not many clues how the life in your country is, in reality, I know only what I have been presented. I have been a lot in Canada, though (Calgary, to be specific), and I figure I would recognize myself a bit in your part of the US. I didn’t see any of these diners around there, so that might be one difference. You probably see a million others.
Ove I love to shoot these kinds of things real early in the mornings, quiet, no traffic and clear light.
When you were in Calgary did you get by the King Edward? The King Eddy was one of the best blues bars in the world. Got to go there a couple of times, Diane’s family was from Calgary and was raised there.
I hope you sauntered in and dropped a quarter in the juke box and then ordered a hamburger, fries and a shake? Those are what I thought of with this image, things from the past. I am drawn to the wonderful blue colors to it, just grabs me and pulls me in. I also notice there seems to be a couple of old gas pumps in the front which are way kool.
No, Ray, I don’t think I did. Sounds like a missed opportunity. Mostly, on my free time, I did run (that is, training, not running in general) along the river and also went out shooting, both in the city and out to the Rockies. I used to stay there a week at time. I worked for a Canaidian business between 2005 and 2006.

Having grown up in NJ this is such a great diner shot, oh my . . .

The time of day really works with the blue colors, very nice.
